Padar sunrise and Pink Beach on a sailing day with islandsail.id

Padar Island ridge at sunrise

How IslandSail times the Padar hike and Pink Beach snorkel on a one-day cruise versus a 3D2N liveaboard from Labuan Bajo — so you know which clock fits your trip.

Two Komodo stops, two different clocks

Padar Island is the ridge viewpoint over three curved bays. Pink Beach is the coral-sand swim and snorkel stop on the same Komodo loop. IslandSail.id places both on sailing days from Labuan Bajo Marina — the difference is whether you hike at first light on a liveaboard, or early morning on a return-the-same-day boat.

Guests often ask if they can “just do Padar and Pink Beach.” On our boats those two landings sit inside a larger park day. The one-day cruise continues to Komodo Island, Taka Makassar, Manta Point, and Kanawa. The 3D2N liveaboard keeps sunrise for Padar, then adds dragon trekking and Kalong Island flying foxes overnight.

Share your dates on WhatsApp 0898 4541 919 and say whether you want a same-day return or a sunrise hike. Cabin dates and day-boat space are confirmed by the team — not sold as a separate Padar ticket.

How the one-day cruise times Padar

On the One Day Trip, hotel pickup in Labuan Bajo comes first. You board a speed boat or luxury open deck at the marina, then sail toward Padar for a morning summit. The trail is a stone-step hike. After the viewpoint, the boat hops to Pink Beach for a walk on coral sand, a swim, and snorkel time with mask and life jacket from the boat.

That loop is built for guests who fly in and out of Labuan Bajo on a tight calendar. You sleep in town, not on the phinisi. You still see both icons, but the light on the ridge is morning light, not the liveaboard dawn window.

What the rest of that day includes

  • Komodo Island ranger trek on the same park day
  • Taka Makassar sandbar and Manta Point on selected itineraries
  • Kanawa before the return drop-off in Labuan Bajo

Why the 3D2N liveaboard keeps sunrise for Padar

On 3D2N sailing Labuan Bajo you overnight in an air-conditioned cabin with full-board meals. The boat can sit near Padar before first light. Crew wake guests for the summit while the bays are still in shadow, then breakfast follows on deck. Pink Beach comes after the hike, when the water is clearer for snorkel.

That extra night is the reason to choose liveaboard if the ridge photograph is the reason you came. A day boat cannot wait at Padar overnight. If you only have one free day in Labuan Bajo, the cruise still lands both stops — just on a tighter clock.

What to pack for the hike and the beach

Padar is a hill trail, not a boardwalk. Bring trek shoes with grip, a hat, and a dry bag for cameras. Pink Beach needs swimwear. Towels and snorkel kit are on IslandSail boats. Biodegradable sunscreen is kinder to the reef. Komodo National Park entry and ranger fees are paid separately on park days — the crew will say when those are collected.

  1. Trek shoes and a light layer for the pre-dawn liveaboard start
  2. Swimwear, hat, and a dry bag for the beach and boat spray
  3. Travel dates ready for WhatsApp so we can match day-boat or cabin space

How to choose, then book

Choose the day cruise if you need to sleep in Labuan Bajo the same night. Choose 3D2N if you want the sunrise ridge and an overnight cabin. Private sailing is listed on tour packages when you want extra time on the trail. Destination photos live on the Padar Island & Pink Beach page and in the gallery.

When you message 0898 4541 919, include names, dates, and whether Padar sunrise is the priority. The desk will point you to the One Day Trip or the 3D2N cabin that actually has space that week. Contact is also open if you prefer the form.

A note on park days and sea conditions

Padar and Pink Beach sit inside Komodo National Park. Entry and ranger fees are paid on the park day, separate from the sailing fare. Local skippers from Labuan Bajo time the hike and snorkel around park rules and the sea — if swell is high, the order of stops can shift. That is normal on a sailing day, not a cancelled trip.

If you are pairing this with a Flores land day, read the Waerebo Village note after you lock the boat date. Most guests confirm the sail first, then add overland. The same WhatsApp desk handles both.
